Furqan Jameel

Mr. Furqan Jameel is a research scholar and student of M.Sc. Thermal System Engineering at University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. His current research project is “desalination and water recovery from portable devices”.

Faisal Hassan

Mr. Faisal Hassan is a research assistant and master’s student at Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Engineering and Technology Taxila. He was a key member of research group that worked on PCM based electronic cooling and published several research articles during his graduation.

Currently his research is focused on renewable energy and in particular- the nanofluids.

Mr. Ali Ejaz is a research fellow at Thermal and Clean Energy Research laboratory (TACERL) of Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. Theme of his research is solar energy. Previously, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering with distinction from Mirpur University of Science and Technology, Mirpur.

Syeda Laraib Tariq

Ms. Laraib is a scientific researcher at TACERL. She is currently working on thermal management of electronic devices by the incorporation of Nanoparticle enhanced Phase Change Materials (NePCMs) in metallic foam – based heat sinks. She has done her graduation with distinction and she has received a medal.

Samina Javed

Ms. Smina Javed is currently a research fellow at TACERL. At TACERL, she is working on the efficiency optimization of solar absorbed tubes by using nanofluids.  She is a master’s student and specializing in energy system engineering at University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. She holds graduation degree from Mirpur University of Science and Technology, Mirpur.

Sonia Nawaz

Ms. Sonia Nawaz is seeking her master’s with specialization in thermal system engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila. She is a member of TACERL research group. Her topic of research is “Thermal management of electronic components by using graphene-oxide based nanofluids”. She is an engineering graduate from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.

Tayyab Raza Shah

Mr. Tayyab R. Shah is a part of TACERL research team. He is pursuing master’s in thermal system engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. Subject of his postgraduate research is: Performance Analysis of Automotive Cooling System Using Advanced Nanofluids. Other areas of his research are: thermal management of photovoltaics and hybrid nanofluids. He holds a graduation degree in Mechanical Engineering from NFC-Institute of Engineering and Technology, Multan (IET).

Hamza Babar

Hamza is pursuing his postgraduate in thermal system engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. Core areas of his research are: hybrid nanofluids, heat sinks, thermal management of electronic devices, and ground-coupled heat exchangers. He has published number of promising research articles that include conference papers, book chapter and journal publications.

Mr. Hamza received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with honors from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Sahiwal Campus.

Mr. Aamer Hayat is a research scholar at TACERL and student of mastering specializing in Thermal Power Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila . Topic of his research is “Management of brine obtained after desalination to obtain Zero-Liquid Discharge”.

Muhammad Anser Bashir

Dr. Muhammad Anser Bashir is the faculty member at Mechanical Engineering Department, Mirpur University of Science and Technology, Mirpur, AJK. He holds a Ph.D. from Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy.

Previously, Dr. Muhammad Anser Bashir completed his postgraduation from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. He was the pioneer researcher at TACERL. He worked on TACERL’s pioneer research project and conducted experimental investigations to evaluate the performance of Photovoltaic Modules considering the variations in different important environmental factors.

Muhammad Abubaker

Mr. Muhammad Abubaker is currently working as a Lecturer at Department of Mechanical Engineering, COMSATS, Sahiwal campus. His current research topics are-solar energy, wind energy, and geothermal energy.   

Mr. Abubaker earlier worked as research assistant at TACERL. He conducted promising research at TACERL and received best paper award from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). His master’s research was focused on condensation heat transfer.

Amanat Ali

Mr. Amanat is a TACERL alumni. He mastered in thermal system engineering and he worked on condensation heat transfer. He conducted experimental investigations on “condensation retention on integral fin tubes” and he managed to develop semi-empirical correlation.

Waqas Arshad

Mr. Waqas Arshad is now a Lecturer at University Engineering and Technology, Faisalabad campus. He holds a master’s specializing in “Thermofluids”  from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila.  His areas of research are – micro/mini channel heat sinks, nanofluids, and thermal management of high heat generating computer processors.

Adeel Arshad

Mr. Adeel Arshad is Ph.D. research fellow at University of Nottingham, UK (UON). He is a member of “Fluids and Thermal Engineering” research group in UON.  His postgraduation is from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. He worked as research assistant at TACERL. At TACERL, he carried out experimental investigation on thermal management of portable electronic devices by passive cooling using PCMs with the inclusion of pin-fin and plate-fin heat sinks.

Muhammad Zeshan Qasim

Mr. Zeeshan Qasim currently designated as project engineering in Sui-Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL). He earned his master’s from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila. He worked as research scholar at TACERL. His field of research was “steam condensation heat transfer on horizontal tubes wrapped with round and square wires having different materials and different dimensions”. He also conducted experiment-based work on the evaluation of  the effect of wire’s thermal conductivity and effect of pitch on heat transfer enhancement.

Arslan Iqbal Bhatti

Mr. Arslan Iqbal obtained his master’s degree in energy engineering from Malardalen University, Vasteras, Sweden. His research areas include; energy conversion techniques, energy storage, renewable energy, technical sales, product and process development, project and product management, process modeling, and process simulation and optimization. He also holds a postgraduate degree from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila. He was an active member of TACERL research team.

Mr. Mubbashar Mehmood is a Ph.D. scholar at Heriot-Watt University, UK. His doctoral research is focused on “thermal impact of surface acoustic waves on micro water droplet”.  Previously, he was a part of TACERL research team during his master’s. At TACERL, he performed experiment-based investigation of impact of hot weather on performance of three different photovoltaic cells. His research topic was “Investigation of Performance of Solar Cells During Summer Conditions in Taxila”. He published his work in reputed scientific journals.

Mubbashar Mehmood

Mr. Wajahat Baig is an Executive Engineer (XEN) in Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA). He obtained postgraduate degree from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. He was a part of TACERL research group. He conducted his postgraduate research under the title named; An experimental investigation of double pass solar air heater using foam aluminum embedded with PCM to increase thermal conductivity“.

Tauseef-ur-Rehman

Mr. Tauseef-ur-Rehman acquired his postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with major in Thermal System from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. As a part of his master’s research, he worked on “Heat Transfer of Phase Change Materials” and “Electronic Component Thermal Cooling”.

He managed to produce promising research results and has published a number of research articles in famous scientific journals.

Muhammad Usman Sajid

Mr. Usman is a Lecturer at Mechanical Engineering Department, Institute of Southern Punjab (ISP) Multan. He completed his postgraduation from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. He was one of the prestigious research scholars associated with TACERL. He published a number of research articles in top impact factor journals like “Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews”. His research article published in “international Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer” holds the honor of most downloaded paper.

Theme of his postgraduate research was “Thermal Management of Electronic Equipment via Heat Sinks using Nanofluids”.

Muhammad Arslan Qasim

Mr. Arslan Qasim is a TACERL alumni – currently working as Lecturer at Mechanical Engineering Department, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology, Multan (MNS-UET). His master’s is in thermal system engineering and worked as full-time research scholar at University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. His research area during postgraduation was PCM assisted thermal management of photovoltaic modules. He also has a handy experience in the field of condensation heat transfer. Earlier, he graduated from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI). He holds strong academic background.

Mr. Sajawal -  heretofore, a research scholar at TACERL, is working as Assistant Manager at Dewan Cement Ltd, Hattar, Haripur, Pakistan. He holds a postgraduate degree specializing in Thermal System Engineering from UET Taxila. He conducted his postgraduation research at TACERL. Subject of his research was Performance Evaluation of Double Pass Solar Air Heater using Phase Change Materials. He performed his graduation research at TACERL as well. During his graduation, he worked on Parametric Analysis of a Condenser of Thermal Power Plant.

Hazrat Usman

He has adopted "Experimental Analysis" method to have a solid understanding of electronic cooling using phase change materials based Heat sinks. The results obtained from his analysis demonstrate the impact of different parameters of Heat sink and PCMs on Heat sinks performance. The Core parameters he investigated in his research were the inline and Staggered pin fin arrangement with Square & Round fin geometries, under a range of different input power levels and the effect of different thermo-physical characteristics of a variety of  PCMs on Heat sink performance.

I have passed MSc in Thermal System Engineering from Mechanical Department UET Taxila. “An Investigation of Condensate Retention for Horizontal Pin Fin Tube Using Water Propanol Mixture” has been performed successfully at experimental rig in this Lab during MSc as research work.

Muhammad Abdullah Zafar

I am pursuing Postgrad studies from Malardalen University Sweden doing the research on optimization of combined heat and power with transport fuels. I also obtained a Postgrad degree from University Of Engineering and Technology, Taxila.  My research areas are energy process simulation,  efficient energy conservation with zero carbon emissions. I  was a pioneer of the TACERL's research team and conducted experiments on photovoltaic performance.

Mr. Wajih ur Rehman is currently working as an Assistant Director/Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) at Lahore Development Authority, WASA, Lahore.
He graduated in BSc Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila in 2018. He was part of a research team at TACERL during the experimental study of Nanofluids in mini channel heat sinks.

Syed M. Hassan Liaquat

Mr. Hassan Liaqat is currently working as a Lecturer at Mechanical Engineering Department, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. He completed his Postgraduation from Wahan University of Technology, Wahan, China in 2017, specializing in Nano-tribology. Previously, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila.

He was a part of TACER’s research team in during his graduation. His group conducted research on Convective Heat Transfer augmentation in a Car Radiator by using ZnO/water and TiO2/water nanofluids. Their research was published in two reputed international journals.

Mr. Saad Ayub is pursuing doctorate degree at Oregon State University. Subject of his doctoral research is focused on Understanding the Fundamentals of Supercritical Carbon-dioxide’s Heat Transfer performance in non-uniformly heated microscale Heat Exchangers.

Formerly, he conducted a research on Thermal Management of high Heat Dissipating Electronics at TACERL.

Mr. Talal Bin Irshad is currently working as an instructor at Abidees Technical Training Centre, Taxila. He is also pursuing his Masters in Thermal Power Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. Mr. Abu Sufyan worked as research scholar at TACERL. He graduated in BSc Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. Musab Saleem

I am currently working as MEP Design Engineer with Xplor Enterprises Pvt. LTD., a private Building Services Contractor Firm.

My expertise are in HVAC system design of commercial buildings and Fire Fighting Systems Design. 

During my Graduation, I worked at TACERL on our final year project of nanofluids, and published 2 research papers in internationally renowned Journals.

Baqir Muhammad

Baqir Muhammad graduated as a masters in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia in 2016. He was awarded scholarship in KFUPM after attaining second position in Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering department in UET, Taxila. His research investigation during his bachelors study involved the experimental enhancement of condensation heat transfer. He successfully eliminated the problems faced during the setting up of experimental apparatus and instrumentation.
Currently, He is working as a maintenance and reliability engineer in OGDCL.  He has also worked as a Lecturer in the department of Mechanical Engineering, NUST, Pakistan. Besides he has also served in the maintenance department of Attock Refinery Limited as a Senior Management Trainee. He has also worked as a research assistant in the Research Institute in KFUPM where he had worked on drag reduction in multiphase flow systems using drag reducing polymer.

Sullah-ud-Din (Lab Engineer)

Mr. Sullah-ud-Din is faculty member, designated as Lab Engineer and a member of research team at TACERL, Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. He holds a postgraduate degree in thermal system engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. Areas of his research are condensation heat transfer, binary fluids, solar energy and HVAC. He is permanent member of ongoing research projects at TACERL.

Manzoor Ahmad (Laboratory Assistant)

Mr. Mazoor Ahmad holds 10 years of working experiences at Thermal and Clean Energy Research Lab (TACERL). His expertise includes, management of laboratory’s equipment and experimental setups. He is responsible to look-over the experimental activities of undergraduate classes. He holds a number of certifications pertaining to operations and functioning of laboratory equipment. His key role is to assist research projects as well as laboratory activities. Structural management of automotive-vehicles is his key skill; besides that, he is also expert in engine overhauling and vehicle-body maintenance operations such as denting, painting, etc.
